Had a lovely meal tonight, I had Chicken Strips,chips & curry sauce, my partner had fish,chips & peas. Then we both had Apple Pie and Custard. It was absolutely delicious, 😋😋

I have autism and I'm not good in new places but I really enjoyed it when I came in with my support worker. It wasn't too loud and not too busy! I'm very picky with food so I appreciate the staff taking some of the food I don't like off the dish I ordered.

Been again tonight for tea. Doesn’t matter if it’s quiet or busy the food is always the same…tasty and hot. The staff are always the same friendly helpful and polite. My little dog Bruce always gets treats and cuddles from staff. Thank you Shovels. X x x 💜❤️🐾

Had a fantastic night tonight at the quiz. Will definitely be coming back. Food was very nice, hot and wait time wasn't too long. Andrea served us, she was attentive, smiley and just generally lovely to speak to. Coming back next Thursday for the quiz, overall fab experience!!!

Very disappointed. Went in at 5pm every table had a reserve on. Nearly walked out untill barman said to use a table in the conservatory untill the time it's reserve on. Apparently it was quiz night.
We had food which was ok. We saw 2 other couples come in. And then left due to all tables reserved.
Just as we were leaving a group of 4 people were looking for a table and were upset at all reserved. The pub only had 5 tables with people eating.
We got up and let them have ours. We won't be going back.

Friendly helpful staff, nice atmosphere, great menu, lovely food, enjoyed our visit.
Good parking facilities.

Big shout out to all the staff and management at the shovels … we had our annual staff party there and the food and service was fantastic and would highly recommend for any occasion . Will definitely be back 👍

Went for a meal at the shovels. First time heard good things about the place.
Lovely staff. Fairly priced. Easy access.
Firstly a few things. Turned up and all the table were reserved so if you come to eat I'd recommend reserving a table as if you come you might not get a table for a while.
Food was absolutely amazing. I had the 8oz gammon with egg chips and wine apple and peas..
Peas a tad hard but not really an issue
Mc and cheese was really small for a side for the price. £3 odd.. and the cheese sauce i think tasted like a a jar cheese sauce. (Sorry).
But other than that the food overall was good and I will most certainly be back to try other food.
